KOIN MMA
Free play-money MMA wagering.
KOIN MMA is a free game for mixed martial arts fans. Every player gets a play-money balance to stake on upcoming fights at live market odds. Pick the winner, and optionally the method and round for a bigger return. When the fight is official, your balance moves, and the leaderboard ranks everyone by balance.
There is no real money involved: nothing to deposit, nothing to withdraw, and nothing to buy. It's a scoreboard for how well you read a fight card.
How it works
Play-money wagering · Leagues & seasons
- You pick one of the two global leagues before your first wager. The pick is free and does not use your season switch. Global is the casual game: you start with
250 and bet numbered events' main cards plus the main and co-main of fight nights. Global Hardcore starts at
1,000 and covers every fight on numbered events and fight nights. Neither covers the Contender Series. - You can switch global leagues once per season. Switching resets you to the other league's baseline (its starting balance plus the salary it has paid this season), drops your open wagers, and is locked while an event is underway.
- Fights outside your leagues' cards are clearly marked: nothing to do there, just watch.
- Private leagues sit on top of your global one, so pick a global league first.
- A season runs three numbered events and always ends on one. When it ends, final standings are archived and every balance resets to the league's starting balance for the new season.
- After the year's twelfth numbered event a short mini season runs to the winter break, with its own starting balance sized to the remaining schedule. The new year's first season starts with the first event after the break.
- Before each event, once the previous event has finished, every member receives a salary of
20 per fight that counts for the league on the upcoming card. (A season's very first event isn't funded.) - The salary climbs as the season runs: after each numbered event it goes up by
10 per fight, from
20 to
30 to
40. It stops there, and the next season starts the ladder over. - On every fight your league covers, the first
10 of your stake is on the league: it never comes out of your balance, but it pays out like real stake when you win. Anything above it comes from your balance. - No rebuys. If you run your balance down, the salary and free bets are the way back up.
- Minimum wager is
10; the maximum is your available balance plus the free bet.
- Pick a winner (required), plus an optional method (KO/TKO, Submission, or Decision) and, on a finish pick, an optional round over/under (1.5 on 3-round fights, 2.5 on 5-round fights). Each pick page shows every multiplier and a live payout estimate before you commit.
- The balance portion of your stake (everything above the free bet) is held from your balance when you place the wager.
- You can change your pick or stake any time until the line locks (see below), and you can fully cancel an open wager to get your balance stake back. The free portion never converts to balance; it just becomes available again if you re-bet the fight.
- You bet one card at a time. Only your league's next event is open; the cards after it stay shut until that one finishes. Since leagues cover different events, two of your leagues can be open on different cards.
- In more than one league? Your pick is the same everywhere; the stake is set per league, each with its own free bet.
- Each fighter's odds come from live betting markets and drift as the market moves. If no market is available, a fight is priced even (2.00×).
- Betting on a fight locks at its closing line: the moment the previous fight on the card ends (or, for the card's first fight, when the event goes live). Whatever the odds are at that instant are frozen, and every wager on that fight settles at the same frozen odds.
- Once locked, a fight can no longer be bet, edited, or cancelled.
Your payout is the total returned to your balance (your stake included):
stake × winner odds × method bonus × round bonus
- Method and round bonuses are priced per fight, from each fighter's finishing profile and live market odds. Rarer outcomes pay more: calling a submission from a striker pays a lot more than calling a knockout from a knockout artist. The exact multipliers are shown on every pick button before you commit.
- Every pick is worth the same on average. The multipliers balance out so no method or round choice is secretly better than another; picking against the grain just pays more when you are right.
- The round pick is optional and is an over/under (1.5 on 3-round fights, 2.5 on 5-round fights) on when the finish lands. Adding it moves part of the payout onto the round leg, so the method multiplier drops a bit; skipping it keeps the full method multiplier. The round bonus rides on your method: it pays when your predicted method lands inside your window. A decision misses both sides of the over/under.
- Getting a prop wrong is free upside. A wrong method or wrong round just multiplies by 1.00 (no penalty). You still win on the winner alone.
- A Decision pick has no round leg (decisions go the distance). A DQ counts as KO/TKO for the method bonus.
- Pick the wrong winner and the stake is lost, whatever the props did.
If a fight ends in a Draw, a No Contest, or is cancelled, every wager on it is voided and the balance portion of your stake is refunded. The free portion never converts to balance. No win, no loss.
- Anyone can create a private league: pick which parts of the schedule count (down to main card vs prelims per event type, Contender Series included if you want it), set the starting balance, per-fight salary, and free bet, and share the invite code. Joining is by code only.
- Leagues hold up to 30 members, and you can be in up to 5 private leagues on top of your global league.
- Need a bigger league? Email support@koinmma.com with your reasoning and we can create it for you.
- The manager runs settings, members, and the league picture, and can name co-managers, whose one extra power is sharing the invite code. If a manager deletes their account, the longest-serving co-manager inherits the league; with no co-managers, the league is deleted with the account.
- Private leagues follow the same season calendar. For the mini season a league either sits it out or plays it under the casual or hardcore mini economy, as the manager chooses.
- Wagers settle on the official result as called on fight night: the referee's stoppage or the judges' decision.
- Overturned results don't change payouts. If a result is later reversed (e.g. a commission overturns it to a No Contest after a failed drug test), your wager stays settled as it paid on the night. The day-of result is final.
- Each wager settles once. Winnings and refunds are credited to your balance the moment the fight is official.
